TEHRAN – Esmail Kosari of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee has commented that recent terrorist actions in northwest Iran and near the holy city of Qom show the viciousness of the global arrogance (forces of imperialism) and the counter-revolutionary elements.
On Friday, terrorists exploded three 56-inch (142-centimeter) diameter gas pipelines around the town of Delijan in the central province of Qom, temporarily disrupting gas delivery from refineries in southern Iran to the north and northwest. In late March, in two separate terrorist acts, a serviceman and a policeman were killed in Sanandaj in the western province of Kordestan. And in early April, terrorists opened fire on a border police station in Marivan, Kordestan Province, killing four police officers and injuring two others.
“Recent actions carried out by dependent elements are result of the Westerners’ anger over spontaneous popular uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa,” Kosari told the Mehr News Agency on Monday.
The lawmaker also announced that the security forces have arrested and killed a number of elements involved in these terrorist acts and will identify and kill the remaining ones in the near future.
The Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee is thoroughly investigating the recent terrorist incidents in Qom and Kordestan, he added.
